CINEMAPUA 2020 FINALISTS REVEALED

The School of Media Studies - Mapúa University proudly announces this year’s CINEMAPÚA finalists and official entries in three categories. This season marks the 18th year celebration of CineMapúa in showcasing and appreciating the value of students' visual storytelling through film technology.
 
More than a hundred submitted film entries were screened last December 18-19 to select the finalists in each category: Collegiate; All Mapúans; and High School. A total of 32 selected short films will compete for Cardinal Best Film Awards (Gold, Silver & Bronze) per category; and for Special Cardinal Individual Film Awards per category during the week-long film festival on January 21-25, 2020 at the Intramuros campus. This annual event is one of the highlights of the celebration of Mapúa University’s 95th Founding Anniversary.
 
The CINEMAPÚA 2020 finalists are:
 
COLLEGIATE CATEGORY
 
Collegiate Category is a category for college students from all universities & colleges in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao within January 2019 to December 2019.
                  
 
ALL MAPÚANS CATEGORY
 
All Mapúans Category is an exclusive category for Mapua college, senior high school, and master students from Intramuros campus and Makati campus within January 2019 to December 2019.
 
 
HIGH SCHOOL CATEGORY
 
High School Category is a category for senior and junior high school students from all universities, colleges & high schools in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao within January 2019 to December 2019.
 
 
 
The winners of CineMapúa 2020 will be receiving a Cardinal Gold Film Award (P10,000 plus Cinemapua trophy) for best film; a Cardinal Silver Film Award (P7,000 plus Cinemapua trophy) for 2nd best film; and a Cardinal Bronze Film Award (P5,000 plus Cinemapua trophy) for 3rd best film, both for collegiate and all Mapúans categories. On the other hand, winners for high school category will receive a Cardinal Gold Film Award (P7,000 plus Cinemapua trophy) for best film; a Cardinal Silver Film Award (P5,000 plus Cinemapua trophy) for 2nd best film; and a Cardinal Bronze Film Award (P3,000 plus Cinemapua trophy) for 3rd best film.
 
Special Awards will also be given in each category with Cinemapua trophies. The following are the special awards: Cardinal Best Performance of an Actress; Cardinal Best Performance of an Actor; Cardinal Best Director; Cardinal Best Screenplay; Cardinal Best Cinematography; Cardinal Best Film Editing; Cardinal Best Production Design; Cardinal Best in Sound and Music; Cardinal Best Original Sound Track; Cardinal Best Film Teaser; Cardinal Best Film Poster; and Cardinal Audience Choice Award.
 
The Awards Night will be held on January 24, 2020 at the Mapua University Gymnasium, Intramuros Manila campus, 6:00 in the evening. CineMapúa is in partnership with Film Arts and Media Enthusiasts (FAME), a School of Media Studies accredited student organization.
